Church Ministries

Are you a member looking to get more involved with Trinity? Or maybe you're looking to deepen your connection with the Word, Love, and Grace of Jesus beyond Sunday services? Trinity Lutheran Church has many different ministries, from music to Bible study to good old fashioned fellowship. Read about them all below.

***Due to COVID-19, some of our ministry opportunities may not be taking place or have changed to a virtual format.***

Worship and Music

Trinity uses a blended litury of tradition hymns, contemporary Christian music, and new multicultural music. We experiecne all of this within the context of Lutheran liturgy. Bible readings come from a multitude of translations, including the contemporary "Message". We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday as well as on holidays and festivals. We rotate between four different liturgies on a seasonal basis. Opportunities abound for participation in the worship service! Readers, ushers, greeters, assisting ministers, and muscians all minister to each other!

For more information on participating in the service, contact Pastor Sara here.

Christian Education

Martin Luther once asked, "What do we older folks live for if not for the care of the young, to teach and train them?" The importance Luther placed on education has remained a hallmark of the Lutheran church for centuries and is truly part of out calling.

Trinity Book Club

The Trinity Book Club has selected "We Will Feast: Rethinking Dinner, Worship, and the Community of God" by Kendall Vanderslice as the next book. Updates coming soon regarding meeting times.

Unfortunately, there are no copies avaiable from Lakewood Public Library or Cleveland Public Library. However, Pastor Sara and Katie S. both have copies and are willing to loan them. Otherwise, the book is available for purchase and we have included a link here to order your copy from a local small business.

If you are curious about Trinity Book Club's other reads, our previous book selection was "Dear Church: a Love Letter from a Black Preacher to the Whitest Denomination in the US" by Lenny Duncan. It is available at Lakewood Public Library, Cleveland Public Library, and for purchase here.

We are always on the look-out for ways to spend time together in addition to being in worship, whether it's working in the Community Garden, cooking in the kitchen, cleaning up the flower beds, making name it!

Bad Girls of the Bible

The Bad Girls of the Bible, otherwise known as the BGs, is a way for the women of Trinity to gather for fellowship and spiritual growth. Several years ago, the BGs started as a weekend retreat discussing the book "Bad Girls of the Bible". That retreat was so joyous that no one wanted it to end so the BGs were formed! The BGs have met monthly ever since to renew ties to God and one another as well as annual fall retreats.

Part social, part service, part study, some of our previous activities have included movie nights, dinners out, yoga classes at church, and sponsorship of families at Christmas. We laugh, cry, listen, and speak - all parts of living with each other as we walk and grow on our faith journey.

All woman of the church are welcome! Women from 18 to 82 have joined in the fun and fellowship.
